Our Story

Spring Lake Family Farms is a family-owned business in Albemarle, NC. We primarily grow salad greens using Aquaponics and Hydroponics technology inside a greenhouse, allowing us to produce year-round. In addition to our greenhouse production, we have a farm store selling locally produced and North Carolina-based items, organic, and some gluten-free options. We love to partner with other local artisans, growers, and producers to foster a community-based local food system. We hope to develop a community around wholesome food and promote good health.

We started Spring Lake Family Farms in 2014 with an idea and a dream to provide the community with locally-grown and good-for-you food. Our family has grown as well as our dream for the farm and we are constantly working to bring the community an affordable option for locally-grown healthy products. We love every chance to partner with other local producers and to gain support from people in the community.
